Electrical Service Upgrade
Electrical Service Upgrade
The foundation every electrification upgrade is built on. Three paths to get your home ready — we'll recommend the right one after your assessment.
Why it matters
Enable Every Other Upgrade
Heat pumps, EV chargers, solar inverters, and induction stoves all require adequate panel capacity. Getting the electrical right first means every future upgrade goes in cleanly.
Three Upgrade Paths
Not every home needs a full rewire. We assess your current service and recommend the most cost-effective path — panel only, panel plus wiring, or a load management device.
Permitted and Inspected
All electrical work is permitted, inspected, and completed by a licensed electrician. Your insurance and resale value stay protected.
Three Paths to Electrical Readiness
Panel Replacement Only
We swap out the existing panel using your current wiring — no service size increase, no new conductors. This modernizes an aging or unsafe panel, adds breaker capacity, and brings the equipment up to current code. The fastest and most affordable path when your existing wires are in good shape.
Panel + Service Entrance Wiring
When the wires running from the utility connection to your panel are undersized or aging, we replace both together. This is the full upgrade — new panel, new service entrance conductors, new meter base, permit, and inspection.
Load Management Device
If a full panel upgrade isn't in the budget right now, a load sharing or load shedding device can intelligently manage your existing capacity — allowing an EV charger or heat pump to coexist with your current panel by automatically balancing loads in real time.
What's Included
- Load calculation and service sizing assessment
- Licensed electrician for all work
- Permit application and final inspection
- Panel replacement using existing wiring (no service size increase required)
- Service entrance wiring upgrade where required
- Load management device installation where applicable
- Coordination with your utility for service reconnection
Investment Range
$5,000 – $20,000 installed
Panel-only upgrades start lower; full panel + wiring replacements run higher. Load management devices are typically the most affordable option. Exact scope determined after your home energy assessment.
What This Enables
Unlocks $10,000s in upgrades
An electrical service upgrade is the foundation that makes every other upgrade possible — solar, heat pump, EV charger, and induction cooking all depend on adequate capacity.
